The Meals on Wheels program provides delicious, nutritionally balanced meals for homebound individuals 60 years of age or older and to persons with a disability who are unable to prepare a meal due to physical or mental limitations, or who have no one to prepare a meal for them. Meals on Wheels are delivered to homes by our dedicated volunteers and staff. This also provides an opportunity to check in on the meal recipient as a safety measure.
Spectrum Generations' dedicated volunteers and staff supply Meals on Wheels to communities throughout Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and Waldo Counties, plus the towns of Harpswell and Brunswick in Cumberland County. If you, or someone you love, is interested in applying for or learning more about Meals on Wheels, contact the Nutrition Coordinator in your area.
To ensure our clients are receiving our Meals On Wheels services to the highest potential we conduct annual client surveys. The following information was collected from our most recent client survey:
Every meal for Meals on Wheels is prepared with as many Maine made and grown products as possible through our We Sustain Maine initiative. We strive to be a leader in the state of Maine and nationwide, raising the bar for quality and nutritive content of every meal we serve.
Donations for meals are suggested, and help us provide more meals to others who will benefit from the program. We also accept SNAP.
