Area seniors in need of Meals on Wheels volunteers

Did you know that just a few hours of your time, once or twice a week, can help seniors remain healthy and independent in their homes? Spectrum Generations is seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors and disabled adults.

Drivers are needed to assist with coverage of the following Meals on Wheels routes:

Somerset Community Center in Skowhegan

  • Driver Days: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Skowhegan, Hartland/St. Albans, Solon/Embden, Pittsfield, Madison, and Norridgewock.

Muskie Community Center in Waterville

  • Drivers: Tuesday and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Benton/Albion, Fairfield, Oakland, Waterville, Vassalboro/China, and Winslow.

Cohen Community Center in Hallowell

  • Drivers: Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Augusta, Gardiner, Chelsea, Hallowell, Mount Vernon, Winthrop, Readfield, Monmouth, Fayette, Windsor, Manchester, Wayne, Pittston, and Randolph.

Lincoln County Regional Center in Damariscotta

  • Drivers: Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Waldoboro and Wiscasset.

Waldo Community Center in Belfast

  • Drivers: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Lincolnville, Unity, Searsmont, Searsport, Brooks, and Belfast areas.

Mid-Coast Regional Center in Brunswick

  • Drivers: Wednesday and/or Friday
  • Deliver to: Bath and Brunswick

Total time commitment is only 2 to 3 hours per day and drivers are reimbursed for mileage.

Requirements: 

  • Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of Insurance
  • Valid Vehicle Registration

Business groups, individuals, families, and college students gladly welcomed to volunteer. Applications for back-up drivers to fill in as-needed are always accepted.
